Claudia was born in Lisbon, Portugal and raised in Toronto, Ontario. By the age of 13, she knew she was passionate about creative writing and film. She started writing short stories and episodes of her favourite shows for fun and exploring possibilities of following her dreams.

Over the years she moved across Canada from Ontario to Manitoba and finally to Alberta where she resides and works. In Alberta, she enjoys time spent in the Rockies whenever possible and adores all the festivals that Edmonton has to offer year-round.

Claudia is an insatiable foodie and has a food blog titled Sweet Maxxine, where she loves to share her culinary adventures and recipes alike. Her love of food and cooking comes from her family and experience in hospitality and fine dining. She has served movie stars and presidents, but her favourite taste testers will always be her daughter and husband. Claudia has been known to challenge herself with cake requests from friends and family in order to keep her on her culinary toes.

Claudia has been an entrepreneur for over a decade running a successful cleaning company for many years before deciding to return to school to chase her dreams of writing. Although her dreams were never in cleaning services, Claudia does not feel that those years were wasted. Instead, they gave her incredible skills in organization, communications, marketing and social media that serve her well in the field of writing and journalism.

After returning to school for her communications and journalism degree, Claudia started working at the griff magazine as an assistant editor and writer. As well, she quickly started freelance writing and providing social media assistance to small organizations.

Claudia is best described as happy, empathetic, adventurous and funny. She is always chase\ing new goals and loves to soak up all the knowledge available. She is passionate about finding the truth in stories and her natural curiosity serves her well.

In the future she hopes to continue learning, growing and helping others where ever she is able. She wants to continue being a journalist and hopes to write her very first novel and full-length screen play with in the next two years.
